Look for Lucille’s Mountain Top Inn and Spa in the season premier of Georgia Public Broadcasting’s Georgia Traveler television show. The episode featuring Lucille’s will first air on GPB’s state-wide network this weekend, on Sunday, October 21 at 7:00pm. It will be rerun again on Saturday, October 27 at 6:30pm and then periodically throughout the season. If you miss it you can also watch the episode after the initial airing on GPB’s website. We are very honored to be included on such a great show, especially because we have been watching it for several years ourselves, to learn about interesting and unique places in our own state.
The entire Lucille’s team pitched in to make the filming a success and we had a great time with the Georgia Traveler cast and crew. Michelle DeShields, Georgia Traveler’s host for the segment, is so lovely and professional. She makes her job look easy, but it is anything but easy. After a long day of filming at Lucille’s she still had lots of energy and continued to film in the Village of Sautee at the Old Sautee Store and at Sautee Nacoochee Vineyards. There were a lot of funny moments during the day, but our favorite was the first time Michelle tried to pronounce the word “Nacoochee” and got tangled up around the second syllable. When the laughter stopped, like a true professional, she got it exactly right.
Watch for Gracie, the Miniature Schnauzer and the inn’s mascot and sometime dessert-mooch, to make her on-screen debut. She is apparently a natural in front of the camera and wandered through many of the shots. The producer just loved her and made sure she had a starring role. So far all the attention hasn’t gone to her head – she is still content with an occasional scratch behind the ears and a little morsel from a guest with a soft heart for dogs.
Let us know what your think about the show. We’d love to hear from you!
