It’s no secret that some of the best wines on the East Coast are coming from the North Georgia Mountain region these days. With more than 20 wineries dotting the landscape of our beautiful North Georgia Mountains, we are proud to support the new Unicoi Wine Trail and recommend to our guests the first annual Unicoi Wine Festival, Saturday November 2, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Unicoi Wine Festival will provide the perfect opportunity to sample the fruits of five White County vineyards in one beautiful venue just two miles from Lucille’s Mountain Top Inn and Spa.
Not only are we excited about the Wine Festival, we are also excited that the Hardman Farm in the Nacoochee Valley will be the festival site. This beautiful property is owned by the Georgia Historic Trust and the Trust for Public Land and will one day be a museum and interpretive center on life in the Nacoochee Valley in the past few centuries. The 29 buildings on the property, including the beautiful 1869 Italianate farmhouse are one of the most intact historic sites in the state. Stroll the tree lined grounds of the Hardman Farm during the festival and enjoy a selection of award winning whites, reds, blends and varietals from Habersham Winery, Sautee Nacoochee Vineyards, Serenity Cellars, The Cottage Vineyard & Winery, and Yonah Mountain Vineyards. Mount Yonah and the famous Nacoochee Indian Mound, one of the most photographed spots in Georgia, are visible from the festival site, making it a picture-perfect spot for this premier event. Tastings, live entertainment, arts and crafts, and gourmet food from nearby local restaurants will round out a perfect fall day in the Nacoochee Valley.
Book your stay with us and enjoy White County’s first annual Unicoi Wine Festival, November 2, 2013 from 11:00AM to 5:00 PM.
