Summer is the best time to find the freshest produce and homemade jams, jellies and sauces produced right here in North Georgia.  Farm to table agritourism is one of the Georgia Mountains’ special attractions.
Loganberry Heritage Farms brings a great experience to visitors who want to bring home the best in farm fresh produce. Every Saturday through the summer they offer a traditional farm market (actually on the farm!) from 9:00am to 2:00pm, with an abundance of homemade goods and lots of fresh picked produce such as asparagus, hearty chard, fresh eggs, locally ground grits and corn meal, sorghum syrup, jams and jellies and lots of garlic pestos and spreads.
Loganberry Heritage Farms will also be hosting its 6th Annual GarlicFest on Saturday, August 23, 20014 from 10:00am to 4:00pm.  This annual celebration of the pungent member of the Lily family features 14 varieties of garlic that originate from around the world.  Come and enjoy the day, filled with music, art, education about the garlic family and take home a basketful of garlic ropes and other wonderful creations starring this pungent and wonderful seasoning.
The 64th annual Georgia Mountain Fair, July 18–26, 2014 and October 10–18, 2014 in nearby Hiawassee, features a juried arts and crafts show with over 60 artisans, demonstrations of old mountain folkways in the Pioneer Village, favorite country music headliners on the Mountain Fair stage and locally produced food for sale. If Fall is your target, be sure to take in the official Georgia State Fiddler’s Convention this year.
No country fair is complete without food and the Georgia Mountain Fair features some of the finest locally made jams, jellies, sauces and canned items for sale. Take home plenty to stock your shelves! Local vendors also sell the best in Georgia barbecue and fresh smoked trout.
Lucille’s Mountain Top Inn and Spa is ready to answer your questions about how to make the most of your summer in the mountains. Be sure to make us your home away from home in the North Georgia Mountains!
