Grape stomping will be just one of the highlights of Yonah Mountain Vineyards 5th annual Crush Fest, Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 11:00am to 6:00pm. This highly anticipated festival celebrates Georgia wine making and draws an estimated 3,500 visitors from around the southeast to celebrate the start of the Labor Day weekend.
Yonah Mountain Vineyards completed a spacious new wine tasting room earlier this year as well as beautiful outdoor seating where guests can enjoy a spectacular view of this almost two-hundred acre winery at the base of Yonah Mountain. Their new accommodations provide the perfect setting, reminiscent of the Italian countryside, for enjoying a glass of wine from this award winning winery.
If you are a serious wine enthusiast or just want to learn a little more about making wine, make Crush Fest 2014 a must do. The day is full of music, gourmet foods, and family friendly fun.
Take a horse drawn wagon ride around the property for stunning views of the vineyards surrounded by the beauty of the North Georgia Mountains. Tours of the winery and Georgia’s only wine cave are, indeed, highlights. Don’t miss out on stomping the harvest, Lucille Ball style, as Yonah Mountain Vineyard owner Bob Miller serenades grape stompers on his 40-key accordion. Two performance stages will also provide great entertainment throughout the day. A stroll through the festival marketplace presents an opportunity to enjoy the work of 50 local and regional artisans, featuring wine and food art. Another high spot of Crush Fest 2014 will be a variety of gourmet food vendors and food trucks offering perfect pairings for whatever wine you choose.
Yonah Mountain Vineyards is located on Hwy. 255 in nearby Cleveland, Georgia. Make your plans now to attend, as this is always a popular event. We still have a few rooms available that weekend at Lucille’s but they will go fast, so give us a call soon at 706-878-5055 to book your room or book on-line on our website.  Cheers!
