A trip to France many years ago was the first inspiration for The Lavender Cottage, a lovely little shop here in Sautee Nacoocheee. What clinched it was a tour in 2001 through the Shenendoah Valley, where Judy and Glen Walker were again enchanted by lavender fields. After selling miscellaneous lavender items at local festivals, they opened their shop in 2011. 
The charming boutique offers a wide selection of all things lavender and beyond. Peruse the shop and you will find bath and body items; food products, such as teas, chocolates, and jams; and home products. There are also wonderful collection by 17 local talents that includes pottery, paintings, jewelry, baby items, lighting, wood works, and many more original designs.
The shop also sells culinary lavender for use in cooking and baking, and offers several tasty recipes on their website. In summer, it hosts an annual Lavender Fest.
