With a name like Cowboys & Angels, you may think you’re walking into a western bar. Instead, you’ll be entering one of our favorite restaurants in the area.
We often recommend Cowboys & Angels not only because it’s close to the Inn (less than a 10-minute drive), but because it’s a place where all the elements work beautifully together—great bar, fun vibe, delicious food—and that makes an evening here a wonderful experience.
Relax in the bar where there’s a large selection of craft and domestic beers, wines and bar drinks. Or head into the restaurant for some of its tasty offerings, such as an array of appetizer, including fried green tomatoes with remoulade sauce and a superb pimento cheese spread. Main dishes range from hearty sandwiches and great burgers (the Bleu Ridge Burger with bleu cheese, caramelized onions and sauteed mushrooms is my pick!) to full-scale dinners. Two to try: Alpine Valley Chicken with smoky bacon, cheddar cheese and smoky BBQ sauce; and a savory pork chop with an apple, raisin, and bourbon glaze. Rounding out the menu are well-prepared steaks, seafood, pastas, Southern specialty dishes.
Though this is a top spot for lunch or dinner any time of the year, it’s especially fun in summer when the outdoor patio is open—a delightful place to hang out and listen to music.
